If the user has got a domain which is not included in our list***, and he/she is a Premium user, we can allow the assigning [only when they insist about it. Never offer to assign a domain in first place].
***In the case of domains .at, .be, .de, .fr, .it, .nl and .ru, a new year is added to their expiration date BUT after the transfer they will lose all the previous paid years that they may have. Therefore the expiration will be set for 1 year ONLY.
For this cases we should suggest to the user to assign the domain (he/she has to be Premium user).
The assigning is a simple redirection of the domain name, from the server of the provider where it is registered, to the website of the user. Due to the fact that the configuration takes place on the control panel of the domain, we have to recommend to the user to contact their domain provider if they need help with it.
We give the data to set up the redirection, and the user is responsible of doing the changes.
If the user wants to assign a domain registered in Webnode to another website, he/she needs to provide us with the DNS servers of that website (e.g. dns1.wix.com, dns2.wix.com) and we will set them.
Some top level domains like ".cl" or ".com.ar" cannot be assign using normal CNAME configuration. For those special cases we also offer the assigning through our DNS servers: dns1.webnode.com dns2.webnode.com
